Kelly Sports

This kelly sports was about athletics. We did high jump, long jump, shot put, biscuits and sprints. For high jump, we ran from our spot and tried to jump over a stick. We swung our hands when we jumped. For high jump, we jumped with our two feet. For shot put, we got into a group of 3 and throw the ball and the next person go grab it. The position for that was chin, knee, toes. For biscuits, we held a disk which was abit heavy and held it with our hands without much force and throw it. For sprints, it was a race.

Kelly Sports

In this Kelly sports activity, we did a sport of both running and jumping. We ran fast and then jump the farthest we could. To do the jumping, we jumped with one leg and then landed with a mortorcycle position. For that position, we bent down our legs and swung our hands when we land. There were 3 similar activities with one just changing the layout. There was one with a hoop, one with the rings and one with the flat bases. This activity was fun for me as there weren’t many physical activities involved as I like.

News happening in New Zealand

Newsreporter around the world or in New zealand write reports everyday. This task was to research some news that happened recently and find out where they happened and plot the locations on the map. We had to add the title, a brief 10 words summary and the link. The most interesting one that I’ve found is the 2 injured climbers who were rescued from Aoraki. I wonder, how did they end up in that condition, did they get lost or was it a sabotage?

Kelly Sports

Kelly Sports normally come to our school often. We do about 4 activities when they come. We normally play netball. For this sport, we normally split into 2 groups. We tried to get the ball from the other team. We also play some activites such as running activities. We did relay running. We had to throw the ball to each other and run.

Story of Diwali in 50 words

Diwali is the hindu festival of lights. To do this activity, we first watched a video about the story of Diwali. The story was about a marriage and also include some demons and supernatural beings. The husband was a king, Rama, and his wife, Sita. A demon was jealous of Rama and kidnapped Sita. Rama, along with his brother, went on a journey to search for Sita. We had to write a summary of this story in 50 words.

Diya lamp origami

Diya lamps are a tradition in the Diwali festival that are symbolically lit to represent wisdom, enlightenment, prosperity and knowledge. This was an art activity also including some maths calculations to do. We had to measure up the piece of paper before folding so this was quite an activity with inquiry, maths and art. We first pick our colour papers deciding on which colours we want. We drew 20 squares on the paper and cut it. There were many steps involved in this activity. I found it really hard but I think it was a good way to spend time and learn new things.

Te Reo

Knowing and learning about the Maori language and its culture is important when you’re in New Zealand. In this activity, we were given a sheet paper with the map for Africa. The countries were written in Maori and we had to translate them into English. We searched up the map on Google and wrote down the name of the countries. I’ve learnt that there are 54 countries in Africa. After that activity, we were given another sheet of paper but this time it’s landforms like lakes, mountains and seas. They were all written in Maori. We had to search up famous and well-known places in New Zealand that has those worlds in their names.

This activity was interesting as I got to know some Maori words.

Quick write (Why do classrooms have sellotape dispensers?)

In this activity, we have to wirte the importance of sellotape dispensers and why most classrooms have them. This was a quick write activity and we had to list the information above. Sellotapes are essential in many working environments such as an office, factories and especially classrooms. They are either use to put stuffs up the wall or for art and craft projects. The sello dispensers are also essential.  They are used to cut the desired length of a tape roll. Of course there’s always a scissor to cut but it’s quite dangerous especially to younger children. Sellotape dispensers also contain sharp things but the razors are a lot smaller and safer than scissors. They are easier to cut sellotapes and safer for people. Most classrooms normally use sellotape dispensers during an art and craft activities or sticking something up the wall.

This is one of the writing activities that I enjoyed and this also allowed me to test my writing skills.

News happening around the world

Everyday, newspaper editors or reporters around the world, decide and make decisions about which stories or topics to publish. Those stories or informations made to the news for multiple different reasons. The task was to search up 5 latest and up to date news happening internationally and plot them on a map. I searched up latest and interesting news happening internationally and plotted out the most interesting ones that I’ve found on the map. The most interesting news that I’ve found is a woman being sent to an all male-prison accidentally. Imagine the humiliations the court or any authorities responsible for this mess had to face.

I enjoyed this activity a lot as I get to know about news or events happening internationally.

Precious treasures (အဖိုးတန်ရတနာ) from your loved ones

In this activity, I’ve wrote an explaantion of precious treausures from your loved ones. They are so valuable and act as memorial item. I would always feel honored when one of my famliy members, relatives, friends or anyone I’m close with give me a special and unique gifts from them. People also use them to grieve about a loved one passed especially with the treausre the specific person who passed gave. This was a quick write activity and we had about 15 minutes of time to write this.

Overall, I liked this activity as I got to test my writing skills.
